The Restoration of the Former Zlín County Court
Gebhardt, Tomáš ; Blažková, Vendula (referee) ; Myslín, Jiří (advisor) ; Daněk, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the former court building in Zlín. It is the second oldest structure in the city, situated at the crossroads of the streets Bartošova and Soudní, next to a park. It is not only located in the geographical center of the city, but also the at the confluence of the most frequented routes leading to shopping centers, transportation hubs, university buildings, etc. Unfortunately, the building intersects the park and interrupts its clear boundaries. The vicinity is abundant with public spaces, which, aside from Gahura’s prospect, are mostly unpopular, thanks to their unsuitable design and absence of necessary facilities. The design attempts to turn the building into a facility of the park – a café, public toilets and an interesting public space. The park’s boundaries are sealed with the new building of an open-air cinema. The corner of the streets is improved by the much-needed parterre, including a new lawn which creates a natural border of the park. This space is also used as an entrance to the underground parking lot and the main entrance to the open-air cinema. Further, there is a new cube-shaped four-storey extension to the building which contains a new staircase and necessary sanitation rooms. The extension is designed so that it doesn’t undermine the dominance of the court building itself, and presents itself in an inferior manner. The design keeps in mind the original façade and expression of the building, including the shape and slope of the roofs. The parking lot is moved from in front of the building under the new open-air cinema, to clear up the parterre and make it more representative.
Autonomous Smart Plant System
Všetečka, Radim ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
The aim of this thesis was to design and implement a smart pot for plant growth support that can be controlled through the cloud. For this purpose, it was necessary to acquaint with the ESP32 platform, cloud communication, factors affecting the plants and available sensors usable to monitor these properties. Because of the control through the internet, part of this thesis is also dedicated to the implementation of a web application that emphasizes simplicity and includes presets for different plants that can be also created by the community.
Potenciál a limity přirozené obnovy modřínu opadavého ve smíšených porostech na ŠLP Křtiny
Tyller, Martin
This thesis aims to analyze the natural regeneration of European larch (Larix decidua Mill.) in the Training Forest Enterprise Masaryk Forest Křtiny. The Natural regeneration of larch is evaluated at the places where it occurs together with Norway spruce and Beech. Analyzed parameters were lenght of the annual shoot, weight of the needle, weight of the annual shoot, diameter of the root neck, diameter of the annual schoot, the last two height increments, angle of fitting annual shoot height, age, specific surface of leaves and branches and diffusion sun radiance. Based on the measurement the larch is light-demander tree. With sufficient light larch grows very intesively and several times faster than spruce. In the low light larch grows slowly and spruce is growing taller and oppress the larch. The output of this work is to propose suitable process for the creation of a common natural regeneration in the mixed covers.
Influence of growing conditions on the biologically active substances of non-traditional leafy vegetables.
FRIEDBERGEROVÁ, Markéta
Currently, most of the vegetables that are produced on the European continent are released in greenhouses. This method offers a considerable number of advantages, such as lower amount of water and heat consumption, protection against pests or meteorological phenomena, such as hail, and thus higher yields. However, one of the major disadvantages of these devices is the fact that glass is not permeable to UV-B radiation, which supports the biosynthesis of flavonoids, substances that have beneficial antioxidant effects for the human organism. This undesirable effect can be eliminated by installing LED (Light-Emitting Diode) lighting in greenhouses. This is because these lights provide a wide spectrum of electromagnetic radiation, i.e. wavelengths that plants use for a whole range of their processes. In this diploma thesis, the influence of growing conditions on the content of biologically active substances, especially quercetin and kaempferol in non-traditional types of Asian leafy vegetables, namely Namenia, Sagami, Golden Lion, Choy Sum and Tatsoi, was investigated. All the mentioned varieties were grown in two crops (spring and autumn) in the greenhouse and on the seedbed in the years 2019-2021. The highest concentration of total quercetin was recorded in the spring seed of Namenia grown in 2019 on the seedbed 1241 mg/kg of dry matter. Also, the highest content of total kaempferol 1753 mg/kg of dry matter was found in Namenia, it was the autumn period of 2020, also grown in a seedbed. When converted to fresh weight, the results were the same, the value for quercetin was 103 mg/kg of fresh weight and for kaempferol 142 mg/kg of fresh weight.
Golden foils from Borg - iconographical and religious analysis
Gorroňová, Marianna ; Starý, Jiří (advisor) ; Janák, Jiří (referee)
5A Abstract This work gives the analysis of iconographic elements which are found on five gold foils. These foils depict two figures which look at each other from their profile. Foils were found in the foundations of the chieftain house in Lofot's islands in Northern Norway, which is from the Migration to the Viking period. For the reason of analysis the author demonstrates three main groups of gold objects - gold bracteates, gold foils and one medallion. On these objects we can find a pair of two figures and these objects were found in Scandinavia. The author presents here the context of such finds, iconographic elements and academic interpretations of the depiction. Author compares the elements such as type of foil, appearance of eyes, posture of man and woman, their dress and haidress with 91 foils from Scandinavia, and also with bracteates and other objects. She notices the partial concordance among these elements and the other objects and she seeks the iconographic essence and function of each foil from Borg which is later confronted with the theories of the influence of religion. Because of lack of attributes on the foils, the author's assumption is that there is no general depiction of gods on the foil. On the other hand, each foil has its own story showing people from their common life. According to...

Biotic interactions in epiphytic lichen communities
Černajová, Ivana ; Svoboda, David (advisor) ; Peksa, Ondřej (referee)
The objective of my bachelor's thesis is to review available literature on biotic interactions in epiphytic lichen communities. At first the epiphytic habitat is defined. The next part deals with the interactions, specifically competition and predation. Lichens compete for light and space among each other and with other cryptogams at the same time. There are a few known mechanisms of competition, most of them being based on overgrowing of thalli and chemical action. Thallus morphology, growth rate and content of allelochemicals are the main traits determining success in competition. Competitive abilities depend on various abiotic factors as well as on total composition of the community. Lichens are forced to invest in chemical defence by the presence of herbivores and parasites. Distribution of the defence substances matches the optimal defence theory. There is numerous evidence that biotic interactions modify characteristics of both individuals and species, mainly considering the secondary metabolites content and the width of the realized ecological niche. Competitors and predators may determine species distribution. The thesis summarises the knowledge of the mechanism, character and impact of the competition and predation in epiphytic lichen communities. Key words: lichens, cryptogams, epiphytes,...

Smetanová, Barbora ; Fulková, Marie (advisor) ; Kitzbergerová, Leonora (referee)
The study deals with the creation of gallery educational programs based on cooperation with artists and curators. The text is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part we try to define theoretical discursive field of art, galleries and gallery education. In the practical part we design gallery educational programs in cooperation with the artists and verify them with the children's group. KEYWORDS gallery education, discourse, visual culture, art work, contemporary art
